The Wizard of Oz has had it right all this time, “You’ve always had the power, my dear. You’ve had it all along.” True power means love: that soft, gentle, honoring love that welcomes in every part of oneself. We are here to unlock the door to the truth of our sacredness within. Be the ultimate host/hostess to yourself — the whole you. Welcome all aspects in from the dark, scary forest in to the light, inside you, home.
Dr. Sue Morter, creator of the Energy Codes and the Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T.), reminds us that we need to embrace all of us, our emotions, thoughts, wishes, struggles, the light and shadow side. We need all aspects of ourselves in order to experience all our possibilities. The things that we have been programmed to believe as bad can be brought in to the light.
Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz, ran away from home — symbolizing her own self — and looked outward for what she felt was missing. If we continue to look outside of ourselves to feel whole we will always feel like something is missing; we are missing our essential self! As Dorothy journeyed she met others who walked with her: the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion. As they traveled the yellow brick road, Dorothy befriended and grew to love the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion. She came back home to herself. This is what we have to do as well.
So is it possible that the monkeys in the forest that carried Dorothy to the dark castle represent facing her fears and bringing her shadow side to the light? Facing our fears with tenderness is integral on our journey back to wholeness; remembering who we really are. Dissolving them, our clouded perceptions and beliefs, shifts from a weighted down feeling to a more expansive, inspired way of living.
There is a simple yet powerful technique that can assist each of us in bringing the light to every part of us, when done with love, mindfulness and acceptance. Dr. Sue Morter named this technique Central Channel Breathing. This can connect you to your energetic pillar of light that runs inside you and throughout your physical and spirit body. This can begin above your head or below your feet. Beginning below your feet will help you feel more grounded. See a demonstration by Dr. Sue Morter:
Doing several cycles of Central Channel Breathing throughout your day assists you to feel connected to you, grounding, dissolving challenging emotions or thoughts, and brings you back to center, to your true power!
When Dorothy and her friends reach inside the workings of the castle and meet the real wizard, they are brought back to their core truth: “It’s been inside you all along!” Only then does Dorothy return home.
Come back to you. “There’s no place like home.”
